"Anne is dedicated to the musical arts both on and off the stage." - Art4SB

Anne Fuchs is a leading soprano with the Indianapolis Opera and a champion of the vocal arts. Based in Indiana, Anne has become a prominent cultural voice throughout the state—bringing thrilling performances to new audiences and representing the company in concerts, outreach events, and civic celebrations. As an “Indy Opera Advocate,” she appears regularly throughout the region, including solo appearances at the nationally televised Indy 500 Opening Parade, the NBA Pacers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the internationally broadcast Ferrari Challenge North America at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Her roles with Indianapolis Opera include the First Lady in The Magic Flute and Charlotte Malcolm in A Little Night Music. She is also the founder of Foxy Opera, LLC, a vocal empowerment company based in Indianapolis that connects classical voice training with leadership, communication, and public speaking.

Internationally recognized for her vibrant stage presence and interpretive range, Anne made her European debut as an Einspringerin (last-minute substitute) for Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, a role she learned in just two days. She went on to perform for several seasons with the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater in Germany, singing roles such as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and both Adele and Ida (Die Fledermaus). Additional European highlights include a televised performance as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with the Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar, the Rome-based sound installation Notte Splendida Notte (part of UNESCO’s International Year of Astronomy), and engagements as a featured artist with the Palazzo Ricci Opera Studio in Tuscany. She also toured Germany with Künstlermeile, giving concerts in castles and gardens alongside international opera singers, jazz musicians, and pianists.

Anne’s American operatic appearances span many regional companies and festivals. She has performed lead roles with South Bend Lyric Opera—Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), and Adina (L’elisir d’amore)—as well as with Lancaster Symphony Orchestra (Carmina Burana), Sinfonietta Nova (Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus), the Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra (Maria in West Side Story), and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone). Other roles include Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) with Rising Star Singers, Susannah with Lexington Opera Society, Tamiri (Il re pastore) and La Libellule (L’enfant et les sortilèges) with Westminster Opera Theater, and Flora (La traviata) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with the University of Kentucky Opera Theater. She also toured with the Queens Opera Association’s Three Divas showcase—one of her most beloved performance experiences.

A passionate interpreter of contemporary music, Anne spent several years performing with Donald Nally’s Grammy Award–winning ensemble, The Crossing. During that time, she collaborated with cutting-edge groups such as the International Contemporary Ensemble, Piffaro, Network for New Music, Tempesta di Mare, and Lyric Fest. She served on The Crossing’s Artistic Board, helping promote new works across Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey. Anne originated the role of “Betty” in The Valkyrie Suite, composed for her by Eric Moe as part of the Mini Moderns series with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh.

Her artistry has been recognized by numerous national competitions and organziations, including The American Prize, The Philadelphia Lieder Society, The Jenny Lind Competition, Classical Singer, and the National Federation of Music Clubs. At just 20 years old, she was named a Regional Finalist in the prestigious Metropolitan National Council Auditions.

Now residing in Indianapolis, Anne continues to perform, teach, and advocate for the transformative power of the human voice on stage, in classrooms, and throughout her community.
