Soprano Anne Fuchs is an internationally recognized performer and passionate promoter of the vocal arts. She made her professional European debut in 2012 as an Einspringerin for Papagena, a role she learned in two days. She spent the next years singing playful roles with with the Oldenburgishes Staatstheater in Germany, including Papagena (Die Zaubeflöte) Ida and Adele (Die Fledermaus). Her other European highlights include a televised production of Così fan tutte as Fiordiligi with the Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar, Germany, a sound project entitled Notte Splendida Notte in Rome, Italy, as part of the International Year of Astronomy, and performances as a featured artist with Palazzo Ricci opera studio in Tuscany. She also toured Germany performing concerts in castles and gardens with Kuenstlermeile, collaborating with international opera singers, jazz ensembles, and pianists.
Anne now calls Indiana home and has spent years promoting the vocal arts and bringing thrilling performances to new audiences. She is a leading soprano with the Indianapolis Opera, performing roles such as First Lady in The Magic Flute, and Charlotte Malcolm in A Little Night Music. An “Indy Opera Advocate,” Anne appears on behalf of the company in numerous outreach concerts and community engagements, including as a soloist for the nationally televised Indy 500 Opening Parade and NBA Pacers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

A lover of a challenge, Anne spent several years singing with Donald Nally’s grammy-award winning contemporary ensemble, The Crossing, collaborating with ensembles such as the International Contemporary Ensemble, Piffaro, Network for New Music, Tempesta di Mare, and Lyric Fest. She also served on the Artistic Board of the Ensemble, working to promote new music in Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey. During this time, she debuted the role of “Betty” in The Valkyrie Suite, a role created for her by Eric Moe in his Mini Moderns compositions with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh.
Anne has been granted awards by the American Prize Competition, Philadelphia Lieder Society, The Jenny Lind Competition, Classical Singer, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and most notably, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, of which she was a Regional Finalist at the age of 20. She completed her vocal training with Metropolitan Opera sopranos Gail Robinson, Sharon Sweet, and Edda Moser. She resides in Indianapolis and enjoys making cameo appearances throughout the community, while launching her professional vocal empowerment business, Foxy Opera, LLC.
